· The area of City Municipal Council, Hospet stretches to 50.92 Sq Kms.
· The total population of the city is 1.65 lakhs.
· The total length of the roads increased to 100.36 kms.
· Hospet is famous for its close proximity to Hampi, the famous site of the great Vijayanagar kingdom.
· Located about 13 km from Hampi and about 350 km from Bangalore and known as the gateway to Hampi.
· Another major attraction near Hospet is holy town of Harihara, situated on the banks of the Tungabhadra River.
· The pilgrims believe that the dip in the river here will cleanse them of the sins because of an association between Lord Vishnu and the Tungabhadra River.

02-10-2011: ಹೊಸಪೇಟೆ ನಗರಸಭೆ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಸ್ಟೇಷನ್ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತಮವಾದ ಉದ್ತಾನವನವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಸದರಿ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನಕ್ಕೆ ಮುರಾರಿ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮುಲು ರವರ ನೆನಪಿಗಾಗಿ ಅವರ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಉದ್ಯಾನವನಕ್ಕೆ ನಾಮಕರಣ ಮಾಡಿ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನದ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಣೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಜಯನಗರ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಶಾಸಕರಾದ ಸನ್ಮಾನ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀ ಬಿ.ಎಸ್.ಆನಂದಸಿಂಗ್, ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ಸನ್ಮಾನ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀ ಅಮ್ಜದ್ , ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ನಗರಸಭೆ,ಹೊಸಪೇಟೆ, ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಸನ್ಮಾನ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀ ಆದಿತ್ಯ ಆಮ್ಲಾನ್ ಬಿಸ್ವಾಸ್ , ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿ, ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಪುಷ್ಟ, ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು, ನಗರಸಭೆ,ಹೊಸಪೇಟೆ, ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಮುರಾರಿ ಕಮಲಮ್ಮ, ಮಾಜಿ ಶಾಸಕರು, ಶ್ರೀ ಕೆ. ರಂಗಸ್ವಾಮಿ, ಪೌರಾಯುಕ್ತರು ನಗರಸಭೆ ಹೊಸಪೇಟೆ. ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದು, ಪಾರ್ಕನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿ, ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸೇವೆಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

Computerisation : Properties within CMC Hospet limits have been identified & details have been collected & Computerisation of records is under progress. Citizens can avail this facility to pay property tax shortly. Birth & Death records are available online from the year 1996. Citizens can make use of this facility to register & obtain Birth & Death Certificates.
